At East Valley Pit Bulls, we are committed to supporting organizations that align with our mission of advocating for and supporting pit bulls. To ensure our grants are distributed to deserving entities, we have specific eligibility requirements that must be met.

Who Can Apply?

  1. 501(c)(3) Status: Nominees must be a recognized 501(c)(3) organization. This designation is crucial as it ensures the organization is a legitimate nonprofit entity.

  2. Public Charity Status: The organization must also qualify as a Public Charity under section 509(a) of the Internal Revenue Code. This classification distinguishes between private foundations and public charities, with the latter typically having a broader base of public support.

Why These Requirements?

As a 509(a) Non-Operating Private Foundation, East Valley Pit Bulls is obligated to distribute grants to certain types of organizations to maintain our tax-exempt status. Ensuring that our grant recipients meet these criteria helps us comply with IRS regulations and furthers our mission effectively.
